I have always fancied getting myself a Tag Heuer Formula 1 watch ever since it existed in the market so when I finally get the chance to afford myself one, I always look at it with a mixture of disbelief and awe. But I guess my reaction is just pretty normal for any man who has ogled at the watch of his dreams at a store and finally acquired it through sweat and tedious labour. Nonetheless, this fascination I have with Tag Heuer Formula 1 watch has led me to this, of narrating my firsthand experience with the watch and detailing all the exquisite features it has. All that you’d read here are purely relative to me subjectivities but I still wish that in reading this, you’ll get a clear picture of what Tag Heuer Formula 1 is all about.
The visual appeal of this watch is what draws me into buying it in the first place. I like how the watch managed to look very simple and clear yet sophisticated and very pleasing to the eyes. The design of this F1 watch is suited for left-brained people as its exterior embodies the concept of being logical, rational, and analytical. The dial is extremely easy to read and the watch crystal made of sapphire appears to be anti-reflective on the underside. You can wear it with a suit or shorts. It comes with a unique lugless design and the entire case is made of brushed stainless steel. The caseback is embroiled with a checkered flag motif along with the Tag Heuer logo and other specific details about the watch. The only thing I don’t like about the casing is the big, bold TAG HEUER caption on its side. I think the watch can do without all that labels and captioning. It sort of destroys the sheer simple elegance that the watch is trying to establish on its very offset.
The Tag Heuer Formula 1 operates on automatic movement which totally matches the character of the watch. All you have to do is wear it on. There’s no need to tweak the settings of the watch or tinker with the crown. You don’t have to worry about winding it or setting the time if it hasn’t been worn for days.
It also comes with 2 black coated bezel which, I think, makes it more durable compared to the past versions of the F1 Tag Heuer watches. The black coated bezel makes the watch much more resistant to light scratches and scuffs. It is extremely bright at night because its hands have full lume and radiate a green glow when worn in dim and darker conditions. I also noticed that the bezel has a diver’s watch quality to it and the bracelet has a double safety clasp which works really well.
All in all, I can very well say that the Tag Heuer Formula 1 Grande watch epitomizes what a fine Swiss timepiece should be; that albeit simple in form guarantees high functionality and durable quality. It looks superb on my wrist and hasn’t disappointed me since the time I purchased it.
